QSM is a cost consulting business, owned and operated by Dennis M. Smith PQS. QSM offers cost planning, trade estimating, project management and project controls services and has been serving clients across Canada since 2002.

Company Overview
Dennis Smith has over forty years' experience in this industry, having provided cost planning and project management service to a broad range of projects, including projects as diverse as the Atlantis Entertainment Complex in the UAE, to refineries, mines and power plants in North America.
Dennis gained industrial contracting experience while serving as the estimating manager for NewMarch Inc., a major multi-trade contractor in Ontario and Quebec. Clients included General Motors, Petro Canada, Inco, Honda, Stelco and PPG.
Dennis added traditional cost planning experience to his contracting background during the 1990's while working in-house for Helyar & Associates and Hanscomb Ltd., two major Canadian cost planning firms.
In 2017 Dennis' daughter joined QSM as a junior electrical estimator. Amy Smith is a McMaster University graduate and is now enrolled in the Electrical Estimating certificate program at George Brown College, while gaining practical on the job experience.
Our office administrator is Beverly Smith.
QSM operates as Q.S.M. Constructors Inc. to suit WSIB health and safety requirements for project management.
QSM operates out of its office in Pickering, Ontario and offers services across Canada and the United States. Dennis Smith, PQS has been a member of the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors since 1986.
